“On February 28th, 2024, at about 9:57 P.M., officers responded to a report that a subject in a grey SUV intentionally tried to run over a pedestrian in the area of Twin Tower Dr. and Collyer Dr. in the City of Redding. A license plate was provided to dispatch which revealed the described vehicle was reported stolen. Officers spotted the described vehicle in the area and a vehicle stop was attempted, but the occupants refused to stop and a pursuit ensued. Due to the severity of the reported crime and the fact the vehicle was reported stolen, officers pursued the vehicle for approximately 10 miles. California Highway Patrol Air Operations responded to assist with the pursuit. On Creek Trail, off of Bear Mountain Rd., the vehicle suddenly went off the roadway down an embankment. CHP Air Ops advised the three occupants fled from the vehicle and they were going to follow the driver.

The vehicle was significantly damaged when it went off the roadway. Officers cleared the vehicle and ammunition was located inside the vehicle. Officers were concerned the suspects may have been in possession of a firearm. With the help of CHP air ops, the driver, 32-year-old Andrew Noland, was followed. Several officers advanced on the location of the driver who was hiding in tall brush and Noland was taken into custody. The two passengers were not located. Noland was ultimately booked at the Shasta County Jail for the following: felony reckless evading, resisting arrest, possession of a stolen vehicle and being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition.

The Redding Police Department would like to thank the CHP-Air Ops Division for assisting in the apprehension of another felony evading suspect.”
