Two Big Sur Men Arrested in Marina with Drugs, Loaded Firearm, and Illegal Fireworks

CHARGES: 11370.1(A) H&S – Possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm. 24200(a)(1) PC- Carry concealed weapon in vehicle. 11350(a) H&S – Possession of a controlled substance, (Fentanyl) and (Heroin), 11377(a) H&S – Possession of Methamphetamine, 11364(a) H&S – Possession of drug paraphernalia, and 12677 H&S Possession of fireworks without a permit.

On 06/20/25, at about 02:32 AM, Marina Police Officers were alerted to an occupied suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of a local motel. When officers arrived on scene, they located the vehicle and in plain view they saw the occupants in possession of drug paraphernalia indicating recent drug use. The passengers were removed from the vehicle and were found to be in possession of a loaded firearm, methamphetamine, fentanyl, heroin and illegal ariel fireworks. The suspects were identified as Robert Donald Jardine and his brother Andrew Neal Jardine both of Big Sur California. Both brothers were arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid, up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine.
