Salinas Police have arrested three individuals, including two gang members, on various gun and drug charges after serving a search warrant earlier this month.

On the morning of Friday, October 18, officers arrived at a residence on the 400 block of Old Natividad Road and detained 33-year-old Veronica Lombera as she was trying to flush evidence down the toilet.

Police also detained 31-year-old Diego Espinoza and 43-year-old Rene Alvarado, both of whom are active Sureno gang members.

A K9 officer was brought in to conduct a narcotics sniff and ended up leading police to discover 9 ounces of meth and 2 ounces of heroin. Officers also found a loaded 9mm firearm and $39,000 in cash.

All three individuals have since been booked at the Monterey County Jail.
