Grass Fire in Lincoln Leads to Arrest for Arson & Illegal Fireworks
LINCOLN, CA — “May 24, 2025 – The Lincoln Police Department, along with Lincoln fire, responded to reports of a grass fire near E 8th Street and South Herold Ave, just before noon May 24.
Arriving units encountered rapidly spreading flames due to substantial winds, prompting the precautionary evacuation of nearby residents.
An investigation by the Lincoln Fire Department personnel, and LPD officers determined that the fire was likely caused by illegal fireworks being set off in the area.
Continued efforts by officers led to the identification of “a person of interest.”
Ilidio Garcia, 21, of Lincoln was booked in the Placer County Jail on charges of arson and possession of a destructive device.
