Monterey Police Arrest Suspect in Armed Robbery and Possession of Stolen Property Investigation
MONTEREY, CA — “On the evening of April 15, 2025, at approximately 6:22 p.m., Presidio of Monterey Police Department (POMPD) officers were dispatched to investigate an armed robbery with a handgun in the 1300 block of Spruance Road. Upon arrival, officers located a victim who reported he was in the area to meet an individual he met on an internet classifieds web application used to buy and sell personal items.
During the encounter, the suspect pointed a black handgun at the victim and robbed them of a luxury clothing item. The suspect then fled the scene and was not apprehended. POMPD identified a suspect in this case and determined none of the involved individuals were military service members and the investigation was turned over to Monterey Police Department (MPD) detectives.
On the morning of April 24, 2025, at approximately 9:01 a.m., MPD officers served a search warrant in 200 block of Glenwood Circle in Monterey at the residence of Bryson Kramer, 18 years old. Officers located the victim’s clothing in Kramer’s bedroom, clothing the suspect wore during the robbery, and a loaded un-serialized handgun, commonly referred to as a ghost gun.
Additionally, Kramer’s bedroom contained a large amount of personal items belonging to other individuals including prescription bottles, ID cards, credit cards, social security cards, electronics, and sunglasses. Several of these individuals have been contacted and reported their property had recently been stolen from their vehicles.
During the investigation, MPD detectives located another victim who had been robbed at gun point on the evening of April 15, 2025. That victim stated they were also at the 1300 block of Spruance Road to meet an individual to sell clothing. The suspect pointed a black handgun at the victim and robbed them of a luxury clothing item. The suspect fled on foot and the victim did not initially report the crime. The clothing stolen from this robbery was recovered in Kramer’s bedroom.
Kramer was arrested on multiple charges, including:
• 211 PC – Robbery
• 496 PC – Possession of stolen property
• 530.5 PC – Identify theft
• 25800 PC – Possession of firearm with intent to commit a felony
• 23920 PC – Possession of an un-serialized firearm
Kramer remains in custody with bail set at $60,000.
Although most property sales are done safely, the MPD encourages the community to arrange for sales meetings in well lit public places and to not go alone. Be aware of suspicious activity such as overly eager buyers or last second location changes.
This case remains under active investigation. Members of the public with any relevant information are urged to contact Sergeant Greg Galin at (831) 646-3872. Anonymous tips may be submitted via (831) 646-3840.”
