14 Arrested for Violating Homeless Encampment Ban in Vista, Including Felony Warrant Suspect
VISTA, CA — “On Thursday, March 20, deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station’s Community Policing and Problem-Solving Unit (COPPS) conducted an operation in the 400 block of La Tortuga Drive in response to ongoing community complaints regarding unauthorized encampments and public nuisance issues.
A total of 14 people were arrested for violating the City of Vista’s homeless encampment ban. One of those arrested was a felony warrant suspect wanted for vehicular manslaughter.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to a balanced approach of outreach and enforcement, working closely with community partners to connect individuals in need with available services while addressing criminal activity that impacts public safety.
