Victim: Prime Cinemas and H&R Block

 

SUMMARY:

459 PC Burglary to H&R Block on January 14, 2025

On January 14, 2025, at approximately 10:33 AM, a burglary was reported at H&R Block (225 Walnut St.). The reporting party arrived at work and found a shattered glass window next to the entry door. Inside, cabinets were left open but nothing appeared to be taken. The suspect likely punched a hole in the window to unlock the door.

459 PC Burglary to Prime Cinemas on January 9, 2025

On January 9, 2025, at approximately 2:12 PM, a break-in was reported at Prime Cinemas (400 S. Main St.). An employee arrived at the business and found cash register drawers on the ground and damage in a back-office room. A hole was punched in the west wall of the back room, allowing access to the manager’s office. Items were thrown around and the office’s security camera was destroyed. Some beverages and food were missing but the cash register drawers were empty before the incident. During investigation Officers obtained video surveillance.

Red Bluff Police Department Arrests Paul Armstrong for Recent Burglaries

On January 15, 2025, Paul Armstrong was arrested for his involvement in the recent burglaries. Officers received information that stolen property from the mentioned burglaries was located at the America Best Value Inn. Teaming up with parole agents, officers went to Americas Best Value Inn to conduct a search of a room associated with a known parolee. Although the parolee was not present, officers determined that Paul Armstrong, who was on probation, was in the room. A probation search revealed stolen property from the mentioned businesses and a distinct shovel seen in the burglary videos. Armstrong admitted ownership of the items and was identified as the suspect in the videos. With the assistance of CSO Cisneros, the stolen items were returned to the victims, who expressed their appreciation for the quick resolution. Armstrong was arrested for both burglaries, drug charges, and identity theft-related charges.
