SUMMARY: On January 21, 2025, at approximately 04:02 PM, officers from the Corning Police Department conducted a consent contact with 5 juveniles near Corning Ford.
One of the juveniles is a known active gang member in the city of Corning. Upon contacting the juveniles, the officer observed a juvenile attempting to conceal an item in his pocket. The officer ordered all of the juveniles to show their hands and to place them on the patrol vehicle.
During the initial contact, while speaking with the juveniles, a cover officer observed one of the juveniles attempt to kick metal knuckles underneath the patrol vehicle in attempting to hide them from officers.
Officers conducted pat searches on the other juveniles and located two more metal knuckles along with a concealed knife in one of their pockets.
Two male juveniles were arrested and booked into the Tehama County Juvenile Justice Center for violations related to possession of metal knuckle charges and concealed dirk or dagger charges.”
