“On June 22, 2024, a CHP Capistrano Area officer was closing I-5 southbound in the San Juan Capistrano area when a black Mercedes bypassed the traffic break. The driver failed to yield, leading to a pursuit that continued into the CHP Oceanside Area. The suspect drove to a San Marcos residence, crashed into an unoccupied vehicle, and exited with a large cleaver-style knife. Officers arrested the driver without incident.

The investigation revealed the driver intended to kill her estranged husband at the residence. She was booked into Orange County jail for felony evading, attempted murder, and other charges.
Great teamwork by CHP Capistrano and Oceanside Areas!

The mission of the California Highway Patrol is to provide the highest level of safety, service, and security.”
