Transient Man Arrested for Trespassing and Drug Possession in San Luis Obispo

On Wednesday morning, just after 11:16 am, officers from the local police department responded to a call regarding a trespassing incident in the 1100 block of Higuera Street. Upon arrival, they encountered 61-year-old John Montgomery, identified as a transient resident of San Luis Obispo, on the premises of a private business without authorization.

Montgomery was taken into custody for violating California Penal Code 602, which pertains to trespassing. A subsequent search of his belongings led to the discovery of drugs and drug paraphernalia. As a result, Montgomery faces additional charges including possession of controlled substances for sale under Health and Safety Code 11351 and possession of paraphernalia under Health and Safety Code 11364(a).

Following his arrest, Montgomery was transported to the San Luis Obispo County Jail, where he was booked for the aforementioned offenses.
