Fatal Shooting Sparks Homicide Investigation in Apple Valley

INCIDENT: Homicide Investigation

LOCATION: 14400 block of Navajo Road, Apple Valley

SUSPECT(S): Michael Deandre Harris, 35-year-old Male, Apple Valley Resident

VICTIM(S): Ashly Sinor, 30-year-old Female, Hesperia Resident

SUMMARY: On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at approximately 6:19 a.m., deputies with the Apple Valley Police Department were requested to investigate suspicious circumstances at a residence in the 14400 block of Navajo Road. Deputies learned a man was seen discharging a firearm into a vehicle parked in front of the residence. When the deputies arrived, Michael Harris exited the residence and was detained. Deputies located Ashly Sinor inside the parked vehicle, suffering gunshot wounds. Sinor was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail, responded and assumed the investigation. Through investigation it was discovered that Harris and Sinor were in a relationship and Harris had shot Sinor as she sat in the vehicle that morning. Harris was arrested and booked for murder at High Desert Detention Center.
