“Carmel, IN – On Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 4:49 p.m. a female subject entered the Carmel Police Department (CPD) Headquarters making threatening statements to officers and claiming to have a gun.
Numerous CPD officers, including CPD SWAT team and Event Response Group responded. A CPD Negotiator communicated with the female subject until she was taken into custody without further incident at 5:29 p.m. It was determined the female was not armed with a gun, but did have pepper spray and attempted to spray officers as they were taking her into custody.
The subject, Stephanie Abbo, 48, was transported to the Hamilton County Jail with the following charges pending:
- Intimidation
- Intimidation by terroristic threat
- Attempted Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer
