“On August 12, 2022, at approximately 11:57 PM, a Santa Rosa Police Officer attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Sebastopol Road and Stony Point Road for failing to stop for a red light. The driver, and sole occupant, Kevin Luna-Miramontes, failed to yield and led the officer on a slow-speed two-minute vehicle pursuit.

Luna-Miramontes eventually stopped in the area of Arthur Ashe Circle and New Zealand Avenue, and was taken into custody without incident. Luna-Miramontes displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Officers conducted a DUI investigation and Luna-Miramontes was found to be driving over two times the legal alcohol intoxication limit. A search of Luna-Miramontes’ vehicle resulted in the finding of a loaded 9mm Polymer80 “Ghost” gun underneath the driver’s seat. The firearm also had a Glock slide with the serial numbers obliterated.

Luna-Miramontes is a 23-year-old Santa Rosa resident. After a medical clearance, he was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for the following charges:

25400(a)(1) PC – Possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle (Felony)
25400(c)(6) PC – Possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle (Felony)
