Fresno police have arrested a man and his three sons in connection to a brutal and ultimately fatal assault.

On the night of Friday, July 1, police responded to The Roadway Inn to investigate reports of an unresponsive person in need of medical attention. Responding officers and medical personnel found 19-year-old Jose Martinez unconscious near the pool. Martinez had been severely beaten, police said.

Martinez was transported to an area medical center and remained in the ICU until July 6, when he passed away.

Investigators soon identified the primary suspects as 39-year-old Matthew Falcon Sr. and his three sons Michael, Matthew Jr., and a 17-year-old whose name has not been released due to his age.

All four were located and arrested on Wednesday, July 13. The three adults were booked at the Fresno County Jail and the juvenile at Juvenile Justice Center.
