Merced PD: Two gang members on parole taken into custody after discovery of pills, gun

Two gang members on parole were recently arrested in Merced after being caught with pills and a gun, according to police.

22-year-old Andrew Morgan and 23-year-old Shane Avery, both known gang members on parole, were reportedly arrested on the 2200 block of K Street on the night of March 20. An officer had Morgan to be in illegal possession of Xanax pills and Avery to be in possession of a loaded firearm, police said.

Both were ultimately booked at the Merced County Jail.
