“On March 16th, 2022 at 11:39 P.M., a Redding Police Officer responded to a disturbance near the 3100 Block of Seedling Drive. It was reported a subject, later identified as Andre Carbin 27 years of Redding, was disturbing the peace of a female resident. Carbin had left and returned numerous times throughout the evening and was reported to be driving a white Mitsubishi sedan.

As the Redding Police Officer arrived at the residence, he saw Carbin’s vehicle driving near the location. Carbin continued past the residence and the Officer followed him. The Officer noted Carbin’s vehicle drove onto a sidewalk and ran a stop sign. The Officer conducted a traffic stop and Carbin yielded. During the officers contact with the Carbin, he was uncooperative and began to dig around inside his vehicle. Due to Carbin’s actions and refusal to follow commands to show his hands, a back up officer was summoned.

While the Officer waited for a back up officer, Carbin fled in his vehicle into a residential area. The Officer pursued the vehicle for approximately one quarter mile, noted Carbin did not have his headlights activated, and the brief pursuit was immediately terminated for the safety of the public.

A short time later, Officers located Carbin’s vehicle near the intersection of Sacramento Drive and River Drive, where it collided with a tree, in the front yard of a nearby residence. Fortunately, the tree stopped the vehicle from colliding with the occupied residence. Carbin was seen crawling from the wrecked vehicle and had numerous, non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. He was transported by ambulance to the Mercy Medical Center for treatment.

Carbin was found to be on Felony Probation in Shasta County for Stalking and to be driving under the influence of alcohol. He also has prior arrests for resisting arrest and attempting to flee from Officers.

Carbin was not booked at the jail due to his injuries and the case will be filed with the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for the charges of felony evading, Misdemeanor driving under the influence, and a violation of probation.

Photographs of Andre Carbin and his vehicle are attached to this release.”
