Around 11:30 AM on Friday, November 29, a Redding police officer stopped 50-year-old Jason Ricketts of Almanor for a traffic violation near the intersection of Riviera Drive and Mira Vista Court.

Given Ricketts’ PRCS status, he was subject to a law enforcement search and found to have about 8 grams of suspected methamphetamine in his pocket.

The officer also reportedly found a loaded Raven Arms 25 auto handgun concealed in the driver’s door, which Ricketts is prohibited from possessing.

He was arrested and booked at the Shasta County Jail on suspicion of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance, carrying a loaded firearm in public, and probation violation.
