Catalytic converter thief caught in the act

“On November 29th at 2:36 a.m., Placer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an alarm at a business on Viking Place, in Roseville.

They searched the area for unsecured gates and doors but did not find anything out of the ordinary. It wasn’t until a PCSO sergeant began driving through the area in his patrol unit that he found a vehicle that appeared to be out of place.

Deputies accompanied the sergeant as they began to investigate, when a subject began walking towards them with multiple objects in his hands. The subject was ordered to drop the objects to the ground and was then detained.

Deputies identified the objects as a red electric saw with a fixed blade, and a sawed off catalytic converter. The investigation revealed the subject had sawed off a catalytic converter from an SUV inside a locked gate at a business.

Additionally, deputies found two leaf blowers in the subject’s vehicle, belonging to a nearby business. The subject, identified as 41-year old Clarence Wayne Anderson, was arrested for burglary, violation of probation, vandalism, tempering with a vehicle, and receiving stolen property.”
