“On November 24th a 4:35 AM, we received a report of an armed intruder (knife) in a residence in the 1900 block of Hughes Lane. Officers were updated by callers that an elderly resident was trapped inside of the residence with the intruder, who was unknown to the occupants.
Upon arrival, officers made entry into the residence and encountered the suspect, Sergio Gonzalez (30) of Bakersfield, barricaded in a bedroom, with the elderly adult female (over 80). Physical force was used to take Gonzalez into custody as he was noncompliant with commands.
Gonzalez was arrested for sexual assault of an elderly victim, elder abuse, burglary and other associated charges.
