Suspect Dealing Heroin in Bakersfield is Arrested

BAKERSFIELD — A 39-year-old man was arrested last Thursday after authorities concluded a detailed and lengthy investigation into the sales of heroin in and around the Bakersfield area.

Rigoberto Birrueta from Bakersfield, was booked into the downtown Bakersfield jail on various charges related to the possession of and selling controlled substances.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, officers from the California Multi-Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team, along with agents from several other agencies, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of 6th Street in central Bakersfield on May 7.

While searching the premises, officers said they found an undisclosed amount of suspected heroin, items indicative of the sales of heroin and over $3,000 in U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from the sale of the drug.
