WALNUT CREEK— Three suspects were arrested in Contra Costa County during a night of looting organized on social media. They allegedly participated with a mob of 80 hooligans who ransacked a Nordstrom store in downtown Walnut Creek.

This melee erupted on November 20 at approximately 9 p.m. The mob entered the store and immediately began stealing merchandise. Two employees were assaulted, and one was pepper sprayed.

Merchandise was stolen from shelves and display cases were smashed, and looters ran to waiting cars outside. They sped away from the scene, and some with their license plates covered.

Responding officers were able to stop one of the fleeing cars, and they arrested two suspects. A third suspect was arrested a short time later.

Two of the suspects are from San Francisco, Joshua Noel William Underwood, 32, and Dana N. Dawson, 30. Underwood and Dawson remain in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility in lieu of $200,000 and $275,000 bond, respectively.

Incidentally, he has prior arrests for burglary. Dawson was booked for robbery, second-degree burglary, and possession of stolen property.

She also faces charges for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, and illegal possession of a firearm by a felon. Her other charges are conspiracy to commit a crime, and possession of burglar’s tools.

The third suspect at the Martinez Detention Facility is 18-year-old Rodney B. Robinson of Oakland. His charges are robbery, second-degree burglary, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy to commit a crime. His bond was set at $200,000.
