“Early this week, the Big Sur resident Deputy was patrolling our beautiful coastline and found Robyrt Clehr illegally camping along the roadway. When he was contacted, he had a truck and a large trailer he was sleeping in.
While the deputy returned to his vehicle to use his vehicles radio, Clehr decided he would walk out of view and flee the scene in his Ford Explorer. Clehr THOUGHT he had an arrest warrant.
The deputy being very familiar with the coastal roadways, was able to catch up to Clehr. While attempting to flee, he passed multiple vehicles on the wrong side of the roadway.
Unfortunately for Clehr, he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a dirt embankment, cause major damage and disabling it. Clehr was taken into custody without further incident.
Clehr stated, he was “into drifting” and didn’t know how the deputy caught up to him. Clehr was arrested for multiple charges, including felony evading. Oh, and he didn’t have an arrest warrant.”
