Three arrested after allegedly stealing tip jar from Morro Bay market

Three people were recently arrested in San Simeon after one of them allegedly stole a tip jar from a local market, according to police.

On the afternoon of July 15, the three suspects — identified as 21-year-old Brittany Doyle, 23-year-old Devon Young, and 42-year-old Brian Moscrop; all from Tulare County — parked outside of Giovanni’s Fish Market on Front Street and Doyle  allegedly got out and stole the tip jar from out front. Police shared pictures of their vehicle on social media the following day.

On July 17, a tip from someone who’d spotted the vehicle led officers to El Chorlito Restaurant in San Simeon. There they spotted four individuals, including the woman suspected of stealing the tip jar and the others who had been in the getaway car.

Doyle and Young reportedly tried to flee on foot but were quickly arrested. Moscrop was also arrested. The fourth individual, identified only as an adult female, was not arrested nor charged.

Police also recovered suspected narcotics that one of the suspects had discarded during the foot chase. The stolen tip jar was also located inside their vehicle.

All three suspects remain in custody.
