On May 5th, 2021, at approximately 4:46 AM, a male subject entered St. Michael Preschool, located at 401 Hudson Street, through a second story window and stole $500.00 from a desk drawer.  The subject was later located in one of the rooms of the school by a school employee and told to leave.  Only after the subject left the campus did the school employee notice that money was missing room an office desk drawer.  Video surveillance captured the suspect as he roamed through the school.  The subject was identified as Oscar Banegas.

On May 7th, Officers responded to Redeemer Lutheran School, located at 468 Grand Street on a report of a burglary that occurred between 05/05/21 and 5/06/21.  One of the classrooms had been rummaged through and an IPad charger was missing from a classroom desk drawer.  Video surveillance showed a subject walking through the school and entering the classroom while the school was closed.   The subject was identified as Oscar Banegas.

On Saturday, May 8th, 2021, at approximately 6:55 AM, Redwood City Police Officers located Oscar Banegas in the area of Sequoia Station.  Banegas was in possession of the stolen IPad charger and placed under arrest.  He was booked into the San Mateo County jail for 2 counts of commercial burglary, committing a felony while out on bail, and on a parole hold.”
