“On Friday, June 18th, 2021, at approximately 6:47 PM, Redwood City Police Officers responded to the “Teaspoon Coffeebar” at 2361 Broadway for a report of an adult male grabbing a juvenile female.

The suspect, Brandon Yamagata approached the minor female victim who was standing in front of the coffee shop.  Yamagata grabbed the 16-year-old minor around her left arm with both hands and attempted to pull her away.

A bystander intervened and told Yamagata to leave the victim alone.  Yamagata followed the victim into the coffee shop and again took hold of her by the arm, as well as placing his arm around the small of her back and tried to pull her again.  The bystander again intervened and told Yamagata to leave, which he finally did.

Yamagata was detained by officers a short distance away and was positively identified as the suspect by the victim during an in-field show up.   Yamagata was placed under arrest, transported and booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility for attempted kidnapping, annoying/molesting minor, and on a parole warrant.”
