“During the evening of August 2nd at around 8:43 PM Officers responded to the 700 block of Cedar Street on the report of a firearm being discharged in the area. When officers arrived, one subject attempt to run from the scene but was quickly caught by officers.

At that time Jesus Jahir SosaOrtega (19) of Redwood City was found to be in possession of a loaded, stolen handgun.

Further investigation revealed that the SosaOrtega had fired the stolen handgun multiple times that evening. At this time, there is no evidence that anyone was struck.

On October 5th 2022, Redwood City Detectives served an arrest warrant and a search warrant at his residence at the 700 block of Cedar. SosaOrtega was arrested for negligent firearms discharge arrest warrant. A search of his residence revealed illegal, high explosive fireworks.

SosaOrtega was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for the warrant and illegal possession of a destructive device.”
