Probationer arrested carrying gun, meth, pipes

“On Saturday, November 28, 2020, at 12:57AM, Corcoran officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1900 block of Orange Avenue for a traffic violation.

Officers contacted the driver, who was identified as Joseph Morgan Jr., and a female passenger. Morgan was found to be unlicensed and on active probation out of Tulare County.

A search of Morgan’s vehicle was conducted and officers located a .357 revolver between the front seat and console.

Officers also located two bags of a white substance which was later tested and found to be methamphetamine. The two bags combined weight was approximately 15 grams.

Officers also located two glass smoking pipes in the vehicle. Morgan admitted to owning the firearm, the two bags of methamphetamine and the pipes.

A records check was conducted for Morgan and he was found to have been convicted of prior felonies. He was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for sale and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

The female was later released without charge. Morgan was transported and booked into the Kings County Jail, where his bail was set at $85,000.00″
