Avenal Police Arrest Suspect in Armed Kidnapping Investigation
AVENAL, CA — “On October 13, 2026, the Avenal Police Department, Kings County Sheriff’s Office, and Kings County Major Crimes Task Force, with assistance from additional law enforcement partners, responded to a reported armed kidnapping in the City of Avenal.
Following an extensive investigation, law enforcement personnel located the suspect in Avenal during the evening of October 14, 2026.
Upon contact with law enforcement, the suspect attempted to flee and was subsequently located hiding inside a structure in a residential backyard. The suspect was taken into custody.
The suspect was booked into the Kings County Jail on multiple felony charges, including kidnapping, assault with a firearm, false imprisonment, and additional related offenses.
