Man’s Running, Unoccupied Vehicle Is Stolen

On Friday, November 27, 2020, a man left his vehicle running while he entered Quality Liquor on 401 Robertson Boulevard in Chowchilla. During the short period he was inside, someone stole his car.

Officers were called the scene. They spoke with witnesses who stated a vehicle dropped off a man who took the car.

A vehicle matching the description of the one who dropped off the suspect was located soon after at the Berenda Slough; two male subjects occupied the car.

One of the men matched the description of the suspect who stole the car. Furthermore, the stolen vehicle was located hidden among the trees of the Slough.

In total, three men were arrested in connection with this case, for taking vehicle without the owner’s consent, accomplice, and accessory to a crime: 29-year old Daniel Brown who was already on probation for burglary; 22-year old Kenneth Bernard, and 22-year old Casey Dearing, already on probation for possession of a stolen vehicle. All were booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections.
