Madera domestic violence, false imprisonment arrest

The Madera Sheriff’s Department has made an arrest on a retiree on Thursday, May 7. According to the Madera County Department of Corrections, Kevin Ronald Adkin, 60, is being charged with threatening crime with the intent to terrorize, false imprisonment, and battery on a non-co-habitant with whom the suspect has had a relationship.

Though further details were not released, the collection of charges likely means the suspect threatened to harm the victim and struck her at least once while he prevented her from leaving.

According to Madera Corrections Department records, Adkin has no prior arrests or criminal history in the area. As per standard protocol, the name of the victim was not released. Adkin was booked into the Madera County Jail at 3:15 in the afternoon. Bail for the Teddy Bear Lane resident of Oakhurst has been set at $60,000.

The Madera County Community Action Partnership encourages victims of domestic violence to contact their 24-hour crisis hotline 800-355-8989. Victims in immediate danger, however, should always call 911 for help.
