“In late June, a female driver reported that an elderly male subject in his 70’s brandished a firearm at her and her two passengers as a result of a road rage incident on Highway 88 in the Pine Grove area.

As a result of his investigation the Deputy was able to identify 71 year old Thomas Michael Shea of West Point, California as the suspect.

The case was then filed with the Amador County District Attorney’s Office and in September a warrant for Shea was issued.

On Sunday morning, an ACSO patrol deputy spotted Shea’s vehicle and subsequently conducted a traffic enforcement stop.

The deputy was able to take Shea into custody without incident and a subsequent search of Shea’s vehicle resulted in the discovery of suspected heroin and a loaded 9mm handgun.

Shea was ultimately booked into the Amador County Jail where he is being held on 1 million dollar bail.”
