Wanted, Armed and Dangerous Robber/Shooter Arrested at the Tijuana Border

POMONA – The wanted, armed-and-dangerous Rigoberto Perez (34) of Azusa was intercepted at the Tijuana border on Wednesday February 20th.

The armed robber was arrested for the May 31st, 2018 early-morning shooting that injured a teenager at the Arco gas station on the 800 block of Rio Rancho Road.

Perez, a known criminal, was on an AB109 for narcotics. He had been known to carry weapons.

Three additional suspects were taken into custody at the time, but Perez, the shooter, managed to escape under the radar.

Numerous tips and calls poured into Pomona PD Dispatch. The public and local media assisted law enforcement in locating the first three suspects.

Perez was arrested at the Tijuana border on Wednesday, 2/20/19. There are no other outstanding suspects in this case. Perez has been charged with attempted murder and robbery.
