“The Stockton Police Department Gang Violence Suppression Unit received information from the MODESTO POLICE DEPARTMENT regarding a wanted gang member who was in Stockton associating with Stockton gang members. During the investigation, the wanted subject, associates, and a residence were identified.
This morning, the Stockton PD SWAT team served a search warrant in the 2300 block of Bernay Ct. Detectives located two assault weapons, a handgun, ammunition, and gang indicia inside the residence. An additional firearm was located during a traffic stop related to the search warrant.
Darin Phaing, 23, was arrested for the Modesto PD warrant, charging (2 counts) of attempted murder, mayhem, and gang enhancements. He was also arrested for firearm violations and gang enhancements related to evidence recovered this morning in Stockton. Sammadie Touch, 21, and Shemarr Tim, 19, were also arrested for firearm charges and gang enhancements.”
