Thursday afternoon, April 16, a Fresno Patrol Officer spotted a vehicle being driven with an expired registration and attempted to pull it over at Belmont at Roeding Park.

Instead, the driver sped up eastbound on Belmont. The officer’s lights and siren did not stop the driver.

The chase ended because of how fast the fleeing suspect was driving.

Sadly, it wasn’t enough. Up ahead, a collision occurred as the suspect allegedly drove 100 m.p.h. through a red light and collided with another vehicle.

Officers arrived at Palm and Clinton , where the suspect and a victim driving another car were “both pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The wreckage flew 350 feet north of Clinton, to Palm and Terrace.

42-year-old Shane Stone, on Federal Probation and a known gang member “with an extensive criminal history” had a loaded fully automatic assault rifle in the trunk of his car
