A Monterey County man has been arrested on suspicion of making and selling counterfeit prescription pills.

During the week of April 3, the County Sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team, with assistance from SWAT, served a search warrant on the 200 block of Hillcrest Avenue in Marina.

Authorities had been conducting an investigation into a counterfeit pill manufacturing operation allegedly run by 28-year-old Nhan Phan.

At the site, investigators reportedly found the lab, along with hundreds of pounds of chemical compounds and thousands of pills packaged for distribution.

Phan was arrested and booked on numerous drug-related charges, as well as a charge of child endangerment. No further details have been made available.
