Around 3:35 A.M. Sunday morning the sound of gun shots rang out in the 53000 block of Julius St in San Lucas. Deputies responded and found Ricardo Deleon (45 years old) had been shot and succumbed to his injuries prior to their arrival.
There is currently no suspect information. The investigation is ongoing, and we ask that anyone having any information call Detective Rafael Garcia at (831)755-3914 or Detective Sergeant Bryan Hoskins at (831)755-3773.
This morning Sheriff’s Detectives, with the assistance of the Sheriff’s SWAT team and the Salinas Police Department SWAT team, served two search warrants in this case.
One warrant was served in the 600 block of Sycamore St and the other 300 block of Division St, King City. Following the successful service, two suspects in the case, Samuel Tirado Ortiz and Andy Mendez, both from King City, were arrested. The murder weapon and vehicle involved in the crime were located and recovered.”
