Willits woman arrested on suspicion of stabbing pregnant juvenile

UKIAH — Officers with the City of Ukiah Police Department arrested a woman early this month on suspicion of stabbing a 17-year-old juvenile who turned out to be five months pregnant.

Around 6 PM on Friday, November 1st, officers arrived at 785 Village Circle to investigate a reported stabbing. The 17-year-old victim had sustained a laceration to her neck consistent with a stab wound and was treated at the scene before being airlifted to an out-of-county hospital, where it was learned she was approximately five months pregnant.

The suspect in the stabbing was identified as 18-year-old Shira Jessie Adams of Willits.

She was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and booked at the Mendocino County Jail on $250,000 bond.
