CORNING, CA   –   On the afternoon of Monday April 8th,  the Tehema County Sheriff’s Department received a call about someone firing a gun seven or eight times from a black and red Harley Davidson motorcycle.

This incident occurred around Valley Vista Drive.  The motorcycle was seen at the Econolodge on highway 99, and was then located by officers as it drove on Highway 99 West.  Officers attempted to stop the motorcycle, but its driver instead took off.

The suspect threw a gun as he was speeding away. The Harley reportedly reached speeds upwards of 100 miles per hour during the chase, but the purist came to an end at a residence on Flourney Avenue, where officers then arrested 37-year-old Clayton Shane Humphrey. He was then booked into the Tehama county jail.

A K-9 helped locate the discarded gun. Although no one was struck by the gunfire, those who called the report in identified Humphrey as the shooter.

Humphrey now faces charges of attempted murder and felony evasion.
