COTTONWOOD — On March 3rd just before 5 PM, Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Tehama Dam Road after a report of shots fired.

Deputies quickly determined that the shots had come from a residence on Tehama Dam and spoke with the owner and a second man, later identified as 39-year-old George John Kokolios and 39-year-old Rory Lee Croft II, respectively.

Kokolios had a .45 gun on his hip and had been firing a homemade projectile “zip gun,” which was able to fire shotgun shells.

Kokolios and Croft were in possession of a handgun, four zip guns, and large amounts of ammunition. The pair were arrested — both for being felons in possessions of firearms — and booked into the Tehama County Jail.
