CHERRY VALLEY – On May 29, 2019 a kidnapping and domestic violence incident occurred involving 49-year-old Rayder Johnson.

A 911 call came in to the Beaumont Police Department that evening from the 700 block of Cedar View Drive.

Arriving officers saw a white Ford Mustang speeding away. The resultant pursuit ended in a field near Johnathan Avenue and Bridge Street, where the vehicle collided with a fence and started a brush fire.

The driver and female passenger got out and ran away. The passenger was nabbed nearby but the driver escaped.

However, on September 25th of 2019 Johnson, the driver, was finally arrested at a residence in the 3700 block of W. Ramsey Street during the serving of an arrest warrant.

He was booked for domestic violence and kidnapping.
