MONTEREY – On Monday April 29th, in the 300 block of Dela Vina Avenue, Monterey Police Department officers discovered a man with his pants down.
The man, later identified as 33-year-old Dionte Batiste , was exposing himself as he sat in his vehicle. He was placed under arrest, but apparently released sometime later.
On the afternoon of Friday May 3rd around 2:30 PM MPD officers were again dispatched to Dela Vina Avenue. This time the incident occurred near Dela Vina Avenue and Monecito A Venue. Again, they encountered Batiste. This time, however, he had apparently approached a female and asked her to have sex with him.
She replied negatively but he followed her through an apartment complex in the area. Other helpful citizens lent a hand and walked the female home.
Batiste was arrested and charged with solicitation for sex. This time he had a bail of $18,500 set.
The MPD reports that they have “had multiple recent contacts with Batiste, with him asking women and girls to have sex and asking juveniles for their phone numbers.”
