LAYTONVILLE – At Boomer’s Bar parking lot a burglary investigation began on September 12 at 12:40 a.m. In the lot at 45020 N. Highway 101 a deputy saw “two vehicle parked along the south fence.”

Then the deputy saw someone on a bicycle, looking into a parked vehicle, with a flashlight in hand. The suspect had some sort of tool in his hand, trying to pone the vehicle’s door.

38-year-old Ryan Padget rode away on his bike when the deputy tried to stop him. The deputy noticed a knife on Parget’s persona nd gave him a warning. He had a K-9 partner ready for deployment.

Padget crashed his bike and kept on running. Then he “swung his hand at the deputy.”

Therefore, the K-9 joined in the apprehension attempt. Padget continued to resist the deputy and the K-9.

Finally, law enforcement secured the arrest of the suspect and discovered numerous burglary tools in his possession and backpack.

Come  to find out, Padget was already on probation for “theft-related charges.”

His new charges include –

  • attempted second degree burglary;
  • resist/delay an officer’
  • violation of probation;
  • possession of burglary tools.

Padget’s bail is $10,000.
