PALO ALTO – This story has quite a lot – a chase, fight, K-9 and resisting arrest, all from one woman.

It started on June 27 around 1:30 am.  An officer ran a registration check on a vehicle and discovered a warrant out for its female owner.

Was the female driver the wanted suspect?  The officer conducted a traffic stop on the Hyundai Sonata to find out.

The suspect complied…at first.  Then she took off westbound on Stanford Avenue.  The chase ended at a dead end in the 32oo block of Alexis Drive.

The suspect came out punching. A second officer deployed the TASER on her.  She still ran.  So a K-9 tried its hand at apprehension, and succeeded. The female still hit the dog as officers took her into custody.

34-year-old Thornton resident Tyechia Denise Payton earned several new charges. These include felony evading, assault on an officer and resisting arrest.

Her outstanding warrants are for assault with a deadly weapon and traffic offenses.  She made an obscene gesture for her booking photo.
