NOVATO – A 30-year-old man suspected of causing permanent disfigurement or disability—accused of biting a chunk of skin off his ex-girlfriend’s forehead—is scheduled to appear in court on April 26, and enter his plea on four felony charges.

Oscar D. Aguilar, a resident of San Rafael, is in custody at Marin County Jail, charged with domestic violence corporal injury, battery with serious bodily injury, mayhem, and making criminal threats. His bail was set at $50,000.

Aguilar was arrested April 17, on the 200 block of Canal Street in San Rafael, by Novato officers, who investigated a gruesome face-biting incident that occurred last Sunday at McDonald’s restaurant, located at 5600 Nave Drive, Novato.

Police responded to a report of couple arguing at the restaurant, and a man described as enraged who apparently left before officers arrived on the scene.

Upon arrival, officers found a woman suffering from loss of facial tissue above her eye. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
