Golden Gate Bridge Robbery Suspects Caught in Sausalito

SAUSALITO – The California Highway Patrol, with assistance from two police agencies, apprehended four suspects on Tuesday who are believed responsible for committing an armed robbery at the Vista Point overlook on the Golden Gate Bridge.

The victim, who reported being robbed at gunpoint of personal items at 3:25 AM on April 11th, followed the suspects as they drove away from the bridge and into Sausalito.

All four suspects from Fresno are facing open charges for robbery and as accessories to a crime—pending the scheduling of their initial court appearance. No gun was reported found when they were arrested.

With help from Sausalito police and assistance from the San Rafael police dog unit, two men were located and then taken into custody by the CHP.

While officers were conducting a search, Andres de Jesus Andrade, 31, a landscape worker, approached a parked vehicle believed to have been used in the robbery, where Andrade was subsequently detained and arrested at 5:36 a.m. on Sausalito Boulevard.

Jackson R. Bauman, 20, a field worker, was arrested at 11:35 a.m., near the intersection of Valley and Second streets in Sausalito.

Both men, Andrade and Bauman were booked at Marin County Jail, where each is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond.

Two 14-year-old boys who are accused of being involved with the same robbery are in custody at Marin County Juvenile Hall.
