Armed Robbery Suspect at Large After Attacking Woman with Child in Stroller

SAN RAFAEL – According to a recent Press Release issued by the San Rafael Police Department, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery Thursday, July 23 at 9:40 am.

The victim was pushing her child in a stroller on the Shoreline Park Pathway, between the Target store and Shoreline Park, when the suspect approached her from the opposite direction on the path. He displayed a black semi-automatic handgun from his right hip and pointed it at the victim. When the victim turned to walk away the suspect told her to stop and then asked her how much money she had. The woman removed her wallet from her bag and opened it up. The suspect then struck the victim one time on the side of her neck with his hand and took the victim’s wallet.

The suspect was last seen running eastbound on the pathway towards Shoreline Park. An area search for the suspect and any evidence was conducted but the suspect was not located and he is still at large. He is decribed to be a white male, 25 to 30 years old, medium build, with short brown hair and is clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a solid white t-shirt and black pants. He had skull tattoos on his left arm.

Earlier this year, two women, also pushing babies in strollers, were sexually assaulted at the same location. In those two incidents, it was reported that the suspect was an Hispanic man in black clothing. He reportedly threatened to harm the women’s babies if they called out for help. Those attacks were reported in January and March.
