Woman Charged with Attempting to Murder Elderly Relative

CORTE MADERA – A woman was arrested at home on the 100 block of Edison Avenue, shortly after a 73-year-old relative who lives with her was attacked and stabbed on Tuesday.

The victim, suffering from stab wounds, walked into Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Terra Linda on January 3 at about 2 o’clock in the morning.

The victim reported being attacked twice and identified Tegan A. Shipp, 48, as the attacker.

The Central Marin Police Authority arrested the suspect at 3:25 a.m. Shipp was booked at Marin County Jail, charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and cruelty to a dependent adult or relative. Her bail was set at $500,000.
