LOS ANGELES – 24-year-old Joshua Jacob Estrada was charged with six counts of lewd acts on a child, stemming from alleged incidents during November and December of this year.
He worked at David Wark Griffith Middle School as a teacher’s assistant.
Bail was set at $600,000 and Estrada is due to appear in court on January 12, 2017.
The maximum sentence, should he be convicted of this crime, is 18 years in state prison.
LAUSD Superintendent Michelle King said, “While we must keep in mind that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, these allegations are nevertheless disturbing and undermine our continued efforts to provide a secure learning environment for all of our students,” King said. “We want to reassure everyone that we will remain vigilant in protecting our students from those who would do them harm.”
