San Rafael Woman Returns Home, Interrupts Burglary

SAN RAFAEL – According to a recent Press Release issued by the San Rafael Police Department (SRPD), at approximately 9am on Tuesday, July 26th, SRPD dispatch center received a report of an interrupted burglary on Pleasant Lane in the Gerstle Park neighborhood.

The resident had returned home after being gone a short time and found a stranger inside her residence. When she confronted him, he immediately fled the residence. Several residents in the area heard screaming and observed the suspect fleeing and called the SRPD.

SRPD officers arrived and began conducting a search of the neighborhood. Shortly thereafter, Sgt. Mike Vergara located the suspect in the area of First Street and B Street. The suspect description matched report(s) and he was later identified as being the person responsible for the burglary.

The suspect was identified as Nathan Hall Wright. The Marin Sheriff’s Arrest Log lists him as a 30-year-old unemployed resident of San Rafael. Wright was booked at the Marin County Jail on a charge of residential burglary.

Wright also had an outstanding warrant out of Chico, also for residential burglary. Bail has been set at $50,000. SRPD Detectives are currently investigating any connection to other burglary cases in the area.
