KING CITY — The California Highway Patrol has arrested 30-year-old Drew Trantow of Morgan Hill on suspicion of DUI, after a fatal crash on Sunday night near King City.

Police say two cars collided on Highway 198 just a few miles west of Pine Valley Road after Trantow’s car crossed the double line into oncoming traffic.

There were three people in the other car — a mother and father (24 and 21, respectively) and their one-year-old baby.

The mother, Aracely Tamayo Rangel of Madera, was pronounced dead at the scene. The father, Juli Camillo, was taken to Natividad Medical Center, having sustained major injuries. The baby was not injured as in the car of other family members while his father recovers.

An investigation is still ongoing.

The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses and child care.
